The Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) goes hard in its relief operations in the typhoon-stricken areas in Eastern Visayas mixing it with evangelization to relieve the pain and anguish of those affected.

With the strong guidance of INC Executive Minister Bro. Eduardo Manalo, the relief and evangelical mission was widened by the religious group in connection with the devastation brought by super typhoon “Yolanda.”

Aided by its recently launched official website outreach project “Kabayan Ko, Kapatid Ko” (“My Countryman, My Brother”), the group has embarked on a wider scope of humanitarian projects that not only focus on areas in the country but also abroad where it has known influence.

Through the Web site, the INC aims to further shed light on the fundamental teachings of the Bible which it upholds, the scope and goals of its evangelical works and humanitarian projects and the significant role it aims to play in the global community.

The group conceptualized the Lingap-Pamamahayag, otherwise known as evangelical mission combined with relief operations, dental outreach program aimed at helping people who are part and parcel of the teachings of loving your neighbor as yourself.

Bro. Bienvenido Santiago said the project, involving all members of the INC led by the Executive Minister Bro. Eduardo Manalo, would extend aid to fellow Filipinos and also in other parts of the world.

The “Kabayan Ko, Kapatid Ko” project is being done in cooperation with the Felix Y. Manalo Foundation Inc., a duly-registered non-profit Public Benefit Corporation and the charitable arm of the INC.

After the initial event in Manila that benefitted thousands of poor folk, the project goes to other areas in the country.

The website features the highlights of the “Kabayan Ko, Kapatid Ko” humanitarian mission and other programs of the INC.

INC ministers who were headed by Bro. Jose Ventilacion, were given the task to develop and oversee the setting up of the online page.

The “Kabayan Ko, Kapatid Ko” project was launched in April 2013 to “carry out INC’s two-fold mission of edifying its flock and evangelizing the world.”

This mission primarily aims to extend outreach services like relief and health-care missions where INC members can express love and compassion to their countrymen in need.

The latest activity featured in the INC website was the group’s relief operation and medical mission last week in Ormoc City. Despite heavy rains, thousands of typhoon-affected residents lined up to get free bottled water and food supplies. Medical checkups and medicines were also provided free for the people of Ormoc.
